As the largest conference in mental health and substance use treatment, NatCon23 will celebrate a commitment to transforming communities and saving lives. 5,000 anticipated attendees will enjoy three days of a robust educational program featuring the latest practice-based research and trends, as well as leadership-building and organization-boosting insights from some of the best minds in healthcare discussing workforce development, crisis responses, suicide prevention, integrated care, and more. The event also includes networking with thousands of health professionals from across the county and exploring new technologies advancing the industry.

“NatCon23 comes at the perfect time to kick off Mental Health Awareness Month here in Los Angeles,” shared Darren Green, Chief Sales Officer at LA Tourism. “NatCon23 is a wonderful example of the positive impact meetings bring to our community, inviting professionals from across the nation to gather right here in Los Angeles to learn more about the important issue of mental health and substance use treatment. Going one step further, NatCon23’s collaboration with local programs including Safe Parking LA and LACC Career Academy offer valuable opportunities for attendees to engage with Angelenos and leave a positive impact on our City of Angels.”

NatCon23 is an opportunity for attendees to invest in themselves, their organizations, and their communities, including Los Angeles. The event is anticipated to bring over $17 million in economic impact to the city, with 13 hotels hosting attendees in town for this important event. NatCon23 attendees will have the opportunity to give back to the community by assembling hygiene kits for distribution by Safe Parking LA, a program providing safe overnight parking to facilitate stability and housing for individuals living in their vehicles, and advocating for fair and equitable treatment and resources for the unhoused. NatCon23 will also partner with the LACC Career Academy inviting local students to participate in a day of programming showcasing the mental health space as a viable career option. Participating Angeleno students will engage in a full day of meetings with NatCon23 senior staff, keynote speeches, and exploration of the expo floor to learn more about opportunities in the wellness field.

NatCon23 and the Mental Health First Aid Summit are presented by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, the unified voice of more than 3,100 mental health and substance use treatment organizations and the more than 10 million children, adults and families they serve. Through policy and social change, the National Council is dedicated to making mental wellbeing, including recovery from substance use challenges, a reality for everyone. The Mental Health First Aid program supports and furthers this goal and has trained 2.6 million people to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.
